The New Scotland Community Food Pantry

The New Scotland Community Food Pantry is a 501 (c)(3) community-based service rooted in care, compassion, and mutual support. The pantry operates under the guiding principle that neighbor helping neighbor strengthens the fabric and resiliency of our community. Our mission is to support community members living in the Town of New Scotland, including the geographic area served by the Voorheesville School District, but we will never turn down a request for emergency food.
The pantry is located at Saint Matthew’s Church, 25 Mountainview Street, in Voorheesville. Established clients are welcome to shop in privacy for shelf-stable, canned, fresh and perishable foods, paper and cleaning products, and personal care items.  Clients may also be eligible throughout the year for support with holiday meals, fuel stipends and school supplies.

Clients & Caregivers
We support individuals and families navigating a wide range of circumstances who may need short term or ongoing assistance.  Each client is paired with a trained volunteer caregiver who serves as a confidential point of contact. Caregivers work collaboratively with clients to arrange a convenient and discreet time for shopping.

Support and Sustainability
Approximately half of the pantry’s food is purchased through the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York with the remainder supplied through community food drives and generous donations from individuals and local organizations. Financial contributions are always appreciated and play a vital role in sustaining our services.
